How to Re-Paint an Antiquated Garage

  • 7:00am, drink coffee, stare at things
  • 8:00am, assemble tools, spread out dropcloth, start scraping, think "we're screwed"
  • 9:30am, breakfast with Robb -- including plums from our tree
  • 10:00am, resume scraping
  • 12:00 noon, arm feels like it is going to fall off, stop scraping, tidy up
  • 1:00pm, pick vegetables from the garden, boil eggs, make a big salad for lunch
  • 2:00pm, go shopping in Berkeley 
  • 7:00pm, dinner from garden -- radish green soup



Tuesday
  • 7:00am, drink coffee, stare at things
  • 8:00am, assemble tools, spread out dropcloth, start scraping, think "I can do this"
  • 9:30am, breakfast with Robb
  • 10:00am, resume scraping
  • 1:00pm, arm feels like it is going to fall off, stop scraping, tidy up
  • 1:30pm lunch
  • 2:00pm, take a Big Damn Nap
  • 4:00pm, vote
  • 6:00pm dinner
  • 7:00pm knit night with friends



Wednesday
  • 7:00am, drink coffee, stare at things
  • 8:00am, assemble tools, spread out dropcloth, start scraping, think "Didn't I do more yesterday"
  • 9:30am, breakfast with Robb -- including plums from our tree
  • 10:00am, resume scraping
  • 12:00 noon, arm feels like it is going to fall off, stop scraping, tidy up
  • 1:00pm, lunch
  • 2:00pm, go hiking in the Oakland hills
  • 4:30pm, come home, douse self with Tecnu poison oak treatment
  • 5:00pm, go shopping for non-holey paint clothes
  • 7:00pm dinner



Thursday
  • 7:00am, drink coffee, stare at things
  • 8:00am, assemble tools, spread out dropcloth, start scraping, think "wow, this looks great"
  • 9:30am, breakfast with Robb -- including plums from our tree
  • 10:00am, resume scraping
  • 12:00 noon, arm feels like it is going to fall off, stop scraping, tidy up
  • 1:00pm, lunch
  • 2:00pm, tour of Pixar Studios
  • 7:00pm, dinner from garden -- green beans, as well as strawberries



Friday
  • 7:00am, drink coffee, stare at things
  • 9:30 am, breakfast with Robb
  • 10:30am, go to beach
  • 5:30pm, get hair cut
  • 8:00pm dinner

I love the "didn't I do more yesterday?"....I can so relate! I love the way you break down what our lives are daily...a series of laying out tools, using our bodies till they fall out, rest, regroup and do it all over again...and again!
