Chickens Meet Kitten

...

Robb and I finished the small portable chicken-pen, and the girls had their first experiences outside of our garage.

I think I laughed for two solid minutes, when this photo loaded on my computer screen.

Also, I got stung in the crotch. Again. I'll bet you wish you had my life.

What a happy-looking kitty. Sorry about the sting. I only got hit on the ribs. Hang in there.

If it makes you feel any better, I got stung in the crotch and on my upper lip while turning my compost last weekend.
Love the pic! Our bees swarmed yesterday, and if it makes you feel any better, yesterday, for a couple of minutes, I was sure Mr. CV had been stung INSIDE his mouth. I almost had a coronary at the thought. Turns out he was mumbling because his mouth was being bonked furiously by an angry bee, and he was only stung on the lip. But the swelling...oh the swelling...poor guy :(

Our barn cats are only interested in the chicks until they reach a certain size. Then it is every cat for him or herself. The chickens start chasing the cats.

Ouch! Last year I was picking blown roses to feed to the torts, and I grabbed out not knowing a bee was inside. The rose started buzzing in my hand, and I dropped it fast! The bee came out did a shivering dance like, "you are going to be very sorry, old girl!" I started saying, "I'm sorry I'm sorry, I didn't know you were there!" She then shook herself off the rest of the way and flew past my head.
