Taming the Tigers

...

Yesterday, for the first time, the feral cat that we call Cardigan sat on my lap.

And today, Robb was honored by Cardigan's trust. Cardigan's brother, Sleeves, seems pretty disgusted by all of this.

I won't lie. Cheese was involved.

Wow! "I WUV YOU!"

"Gimmie more cheese or the claws come out."

Thats what my cats would say! Congrats on civilizing the neighbors just a tiny bit. Beware of fleas. Maybe one day you can slip a flea collar on them?

Awwww! Of all the posts you've ever made, THIS one is my very favorite. What lucky kitties. What lucky homeowners.

P.S. We had a tremendous windstorm this morning and part of our barn roof blew off. Its also raining heavily. Gary has a terrible cold, yet we both were up in the barn hayloft- in the wind and pouring cold rain- ON LADDERS- trying to staple gun plastic over the big hole in the roof. Plastic buckets also came out.

Now we are in the house and I'm drowning him in hot soup.

One interesting tidbit to come from this is that I discovered our insurance company does roof damage estimates by their very own satellite (spelling?). No wonder rates are so high.

If our cats had been in the barn last night and not in our basement, the sound from the huge metal roof tearing off in the windstorm would have freaked them out GOOD! At least when the roof blew off and landed in the yard it missed our car.

What pretty cats! They have contented (trusting) looks on their faces - and I love their round heads ;-)) Thanks for sharing such sweet pictures!
