Things we won't miss

...

Even before the sale of the house went through, Robb and I had been making a list of all the things we wouldn't miss about living in our apartment.

I think the thing we'll miss the least is having a kitchen that only one person can fit into at a time, and that only has four square feet of counter space.

We'll miss our wonderful neighbors, and the views of the Berkeley hills, and seeing nest-building cormorants flying outside our living room window with long sticks trailing from their beaks.

But we won't miss that kitchen!

Well, then, it's a good thing our 1925 house isn't new.

What we didn't miss when we moved out of our apartment was looking at quarters and thinking "laundry money!!" And carting our dirty laundry outside, down the sidewalk, around the corner and to the laundry room. Yuk! Congrats on your fabulous house!

What we didnt miss about our old apartment in Detroit was being next door neighbors to a nurse. She would get off work at 3 am, come home to blast music, clap her hands and dance around her apartment singing (off key), to work off stress from her day.

Renting can quite often be the pits.

We just moved as well and I definitely am glad to be rid of the kids driving their remote-control monster trucks around our building, the fights at all hours of the night, the fireworks at all hours of the night, the dog that barked the entire time the neighbors played basketball, my car getting keyed, etc etc etc... :D
