Dramaturgy?

...

Most larger theaters employ a dramaturg, who is a sort of scholar-in-residence. This person typically writes articles for a play's program, which help the audiences better understand the society and times in which a play was written. The dramaturg brings context to viewers, helping them appreciate the interests and influences that inspired the playwright.

We've been working really hard on American Idiot, the Green Day project, and I've been staying late, getting filthy and sweaty, blasting classic punk music ("classic punk" -- that phrase cracks me up) on an antiquated boombox, and then coming home and drinking beer in the shower.

I like to think that I'm approaching my work with the spirit of dramaturgy. I'm immersing myself in the Punk Milieu.

Sure sounds better than being a dirt-covered maniac with questionable taste in music, a broken stereo, and shampoo in her beer.

They say that beer makes a great hair rinse... At least that's what my mother used to tell me when she used it on my head (yes, now you know one of the many causes!). :)

Yeah - shampoo in your beer is really the only thing that worries me about shower beer...

Hm, lots of beer related stuff in the news lately- slugs in beer, Obama and the White House beer summit, Lisa's shampoo beer...maybe it's time I start drinking- just so I can feel like I'm part of some contemporary "beer movement". My beer movements are related to the peeing variety, however.

Along the lines of contemporary art news (and beer), if I were Annie Liebowitz, I would be drinking a beer right now, as I hear that she is in the hole 20 million dollars, and about to lose the rights to all her work, with real estate agents about to throw her out of her home. As an artist I feel for her. As a person who has never ever ever made as much money as her, I can't relate at ALL to how someone could possibly owe 20 million dollars.

My student loan debt is bad enough!

I have yet to enjoy beer in the shower, but have been a part of the beer movement for a while :) I totally appreciate your consuming yourself with all things "punk" while making this show. maybe this will lead to a new, punkish Lisa??
