Oh Well...

Robb and I hoped to head out of town this weekend, for a weekend of fun with our leterboxing pals.

But, alas, Robb was never going to be able to do the long car-ride to Lake Tahoe.

His back has been hurting much more than usual, and he's got considerably less energy than he's used to. He met with his doctor yesterday, who took this all very seriously.

If Robb isn't back to normal (or what passes for normal around here) in three weeks, they're going to order some spinal xrays.

The worry is that all that fancy metal in Robb's back may have shifted or become stressed. We know that at some point, Robb may need to have all of that internal scaffolding replaced.

We were just hoping that Some Day was a time in the Very Distant Future.

Well, all I can suggest is that if they have to replace the metal in Robb's back, maybe you can recycle some of it and get some cash for it.

Recycling it is the way to go anyway.

Maybe since Robb put all that mileage on his bike, an equal amount of mileage is happening to his metal supports?

We went to Gettysburg today and saw a bunch of people in recumbant bikes riding around! I'm sure if they knew you guys they would wish you good luck! Many of them were ex-military.

I find your term "internal scaffolding" pleasing. It gives me the image of Robb having thousands of little bricklayers working round the clock to rebuild his spine. Singing heigh ho.

That's upsetting, to think they may have to dig back in there and change his Lumbar K-Nex out. I was upset to find out that dental fillings are impermanent. I really don't have a leg to stand on, getting upset about the possibility of returning to the Chair. Hope y'all feel better.

I hope also that it is a long while. Had similar hardware issues. Wishing you the best outcome.
