The Adventure of the Strawberry-Headed League

...

Lisa and I have been having a chuckle over the thought that this picture of our dear little Linguine is, unbeknown to us, an internet meme – a fad, which becomes almost inexplicably popular on the web.

This picture was taken about two years ago. I remember at the time, it was a major achievement for me to stand and balance well enough to take a picture while holding a camera in one hand and a bamboo-skewered strawberry in another and convince a cat we like to call "Fidget" to cooperate.

We posted the picture on Flickr and since then it's been viewed thousands of times and bookmarked by hundreds of people, including dozens in the last week or so.

Current theory: Linguine has secretly begun blogging.

What's not so easy to see in this photo are the genuine kitty whiskers that Robb shoved into the strawberry. I'm such a weirdo, that I pick up shed whiskers, and don't throw them in the trash.

Cute pic. It's amazing how the strawberry appears to have ears. Is everything okay out there? I'm hoping that Lisa is just experiencing some sort of writers' block and that's all. Not that I don't enjoy reading your writing from time to time...
Well, the pic is really quite clever! My brother's cat had a MySpace account at one time (still might, I'm not a MySpacer (is that the correct term? ;-)) So one never knows what cats really up to when our backs our turned. My bad cat had her own entry in Wassa's Boxers n Briefs.......

So no kitties or whiskers were harmed in the making of this photo.....I wanna know what happened to the strawberry.

We know it's not REALLY the cat in back of that strawberry, but your own local Bigfoot, hiding out from the press in Georgia.

Hi folks. Just wanted to invite you to check out my blog--it is nowhere near as artistic as yours, but I found I needed somewhere to keep the thoughts rolling round in my head. It's also easier now to post on your site with my own acct.

I keep whiskers too! They're all in a little glass vase on the shelf with my statue of Bastet along with the baby teeth I saved from my cats.
I figured I was the only oddball out there who saved stuff like that. So relieved I'm not alone.

I would only consider you a weirdo if you ate the strawberry...complete with the whiskers. Otherwise you're a normal cat person :)
