Peace

...

We were cycling today (Robb's most recent doctor's report instructs him to do this three times a week), and I shot off this photo. Without being too horribly corny, I have to say that I liked the contrast between the bird of peace (or in this case, the bird of mourning) and the razor wire. Maybe, there's a lesson in here somewhere about learning to balance.

Or maybe, like this spunky footless bird, you lose a piece of yourself, and you just adapt and keep going.

Oh, who knows?

Maybe the lesson is about finding a joy in simple activities.

I did a drawing years ago of me holding a dove in my hand as I posed in front of razor wire on the Lebanese border with Israel. So your photo struck me as, hmm, very nostalgic.

It's about finding inner peace in unstable times, in unfamiliar conditions, so that's what I think your photo means.

PS- I am going to get 55 gallon rain barrels (big plastic syrup barrels) for $5 each from the Pepsi bottling company in Baltimore- it's dry here and I want a bunch of rain barrels, maybe you could put one by a drain spout close to your garden there in California. Unless you want to spend $300+ on one online, which I don't. I'm taking the economical and creative way out. You gotta be close to a bottling company there in California to do this yourself!

this made me think of my three-legged cat--always inspiring. If only we could follow in her hop-scotching footsteps.

the pineapple is gold, but not intentionally so--the tower is just a mock-up. we'll replace the ugly fruit with expensive new stuff once we get the go-ahead from the designer.

Introspective and wonderful...

A very "glass is half full" look look at things...
