Not surprisingly, Robb was pretty exhausted after our long bike ride yesterday, so he did not join me in going down to Alum Rock Park in San Jose. There is a letterboxing event coming up next month, and several of us went out to scout out the location.

This park used to be the site of medicinal baths, but now it has the reputation of being the home of a tribe of poodle-eating feral albinos. My goodness! One never knows what one will find in Silicone Valley!

Kathy, Hunter and and Cara were very amused at my feeble attempts at avian photography. What most people don't realize is that most of what I photograph are birds who have just flown away (empty branches), or views of birds' rear ends. I spent a lot of effort trying to get a photo of a Steller's Jay. This was the best I could manage.

When I got back to Oakland, Robb and I loaded up the car, and went for another bike ride at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park. Although I'm not relishing getting up in darkness again, I do like the fact that the Daylight Savings shift has brought us more hours of evening sunlight.

Poodle-eating feral Albino, eh?

We only have a few Bigfoot out here, they keep taking a crap in my compost heap and I don't appreciate it. At least I hope it's Bigfoot. It totally screws with my ph factor. Not to mention it messes around with the organic factor, I don't know WHAT those things have been eating. I guess all poop is organic, right?

I suspect those albinos are easy to track once they eat the tracking devices implanted in all those expensively maintained California poodles. I think you guys should create a website tracking those things one day. Maybe you can follow those tracking devices when you visit those areas subjected to albinos, and follow them on your cool new bikes.

Make sure you post pictures of this on your blog!

Looks like the little bird is pretty amused with you. Or maybe it sees an albino sneaking up behind you.
