sorry to disappoint you

If the blog has been a bit silly of late, it is because nothing very notable has been going on, and I have been trying to keep myself amused.

When people ask me how Robb is doing these days, I tend to say that participating in his recovery is like watching glaciers move. Something powerful must be going on, but it is imperceptable to the human eye.

In any event, Robb has gotten over the fever, and will be resuming physical therapy tomorrow.

A while back we stumbled across a service that allows us to look at where the "hits" to the blog are coming from. Generally, it isn't very insightful, as it thinks I work in Plano Texas, and live in Los Angeles California.

We recently noticed our first visitor who came upon the blog while searching on Google. I'm not able to ascertain what word or phrase they were searching, but they ended up yesterday's entry, which was entitled "Nice Legs." I'll bet they were disappointed!

Ah, but you underestimate the power of your words and your heart, Lisa. Your patience and participation in Robb's recovery are so inspiring. It is those very little things that you share with us that have so much meaning. It is easy to see the value in leaps and bounds. But to take heart and encourage through all the mindnumbingly small steps, that is graceful!

Extremely well said, GG, and so very true!

Plus, I think "a bit silly of late" can be a Good Thing.

Silliness is the only thing that evens out the day, imho. Both sides of your blog (the serious medical stuff and the photos and fun) remind people of the whole person. It's not one-sided. I don't know if that makes sense or not...

I can't believe more of your fan base isn't from the zombie crowd, but considering that they have all had their brains eaten, its no wonder they have forgotten how to use the internet.

How about letterboxers? And Beer brewing? And auto accidents? At least you should get a few more "hits" from the fashion police about the 'what medical gear to wear after labor day" entry you posted.

I think it's a good thing that this blog isn't all serious all the time. There's more to the two of you than your medical issues and caring for them, and I'm glad to see all sides of the brave and funny people you are!

There is much healing power in humor and fun. Don't underestimate what levity is really doing for you both!

LW:

I hope you don't get the impression we're having a hard time with our WC nurses and claims adjusters. Actually, they surprise us again by going above and beyond what is required of them.

They seem to approach their job as a healthcare team rather than an insurance co.-- keeping my recovery and comfort and our peace-of-mind at the center of the case.

That truly is the lesson the rest of the industry can learn.

How do you track your blog hits? I'd love to do that on mine, as I've had a couple of early hits from folks I'm pretty sure are strangers.

I still love reading no matter what you guys have to say. I hope you keep up the blog well after Robb's recovery ends. I would miss reading what you two have to say! And Robb, you should post more!
