Organizing

...

For some time, I've wanted to re-organize how I store the yarn I use for knitting. When I last organized things, I did it by color, which turned out to be an attractive but entirely unhelpful method.

Today, with the support of my Imaginary Friends on Ravelry, I re-ordered everything by the thickness of the yarn.  I really thought this would be an overwhelming odious task, but it was fun and painless.

See that thing handing behind Linguine, that looks like a python skin? That's a photocopy collage of the swatch for my next project, a Fair Isle cardigan knit from yarns I dyed with locally sourced natural dyes.

I'm finally getting over the rotten bronchitis.  I had been too sick to even knit, which is pathetic indeed.

Playing with yarn is playing with yarn, no matter what. Can't wait to see the actual knitted thing.

I'm planning on tackling my stash organization soon too. Noreen1009--one of your "imaginary" Rav friends. (I know what you mean--no "offense" taken. I've been reading your blog since a few years back when you posted in the Big 6 about looking for adventurous hat patterns.)

Linguine doesn't look as thrilled in the first picture as she does in the second picture. However, I had no doubt that at least one of the cats would make an appearance in this post! ;-)

Robb calls people I "know" online my Imaginary Friends.

And, oddly, I just revisited that hat conversation this afternoon. Giftmas approaches...

Linguine looks like a total goofball!

I have a cabinet that holds most of my yarn. It happens to block the doors to access my burners. Once a year we have the burners serviced and the cabinet (and most of the rest of the office) needs to be moved, so the yarns come out. It is a chance for reorganization that I never fully take advantage of. All the yarn is currently in space bags waiting for the return to the cabinet.

Yes, she sure does!!!! Is this normal for Linguine to stick her tongue out to show her form of "cattitude?"
;-) Or is this just her general expression most days? Also, how are Smog, Sleeves and Cardigan doing these days?

Is the first picture of Linguine here a typical camera shot of her? And yes, I'd have to agree, Linguine DOES look like a goofball! :-)
