Now, With More Hellishness
...
I just had to share one more photo of what the neighbor kids are calling "The Devil House."
Trick or treating did not disappoint. The kids were all adorable, shockingly polite, and a bit awed by the whole experience. I do think that some of the littlest ones were as excited about ringing our doorbell as they were about getting free candy. It was really fun, listening to them chatting as they came up our stairs.
I was charmed by the kids who earnestly told us "we're inside of a MOUTH."
This really is my favorite holiday.

Here in CT, some towns recommended "cancelling" Halloween because of downed wires and trees and power outages due to the freak snow storm we just had :-(

One house in my neighborhood, some 50 years ago, had a special deal on Halloween night. Looking back on it I realize it was nothing like what people do today. (They had a speaker wired to the outside, so they talked to kids in a spooky voice, commenting in ways that you knew they could see you but you couldn't see them.) Those people are all dead now, but I still remember the Halloween they made for all us kids. You are making memories for the kids in your neighborhood!
Absolutely awesome!!! You guys are amazing! You musy really be bringing that neighborhood alive!
I still think that his bottom teeth could show on the very bottom step. That way it would give you even more of the the illusion that you are stepping into his mouth.
On a side note, I wish I could find those white flat pumpkins here on the East Coast. I always look high and low for them and never seem to find them.
Also, the outside of your house (aside from Halloween) is looking great. You need to post before and after photos!

I keep threatening to set up my spinning wheel under the tree but haven't figured out the lighting.
