A Blanket of Smog

...

Back in September, I picked a pathetic starving and injured kitten from the side of the road.

Neither Robb nor I really expected him to survive, but we spent a lot of energy and money on trying to bring him back to health.

Now, three months later, he's a frisky, funny ball of fluff.

For a cat who lived on the streets, probably dragging his legs behind him, after having his pelvis shattered, he's completely trusting and happy. He's not one of those animals who bears the scars of his previous rough life. Despite his earnest facial expressions, he's about as content a cat as one could imagine. It's only his eyebrows and his dark little mouth that make him look worried.

However, someone should probably tell him that this paws-in-the-air thing is totally unconvincing. Only little kids dressed up as animals in the school play hold their paws like that.

Please pay no attention to the dusty rug. I've been in the middle of packing and moving my portion of a seventeen thousand square foot warehouse. And as soon as we'd moved all the stuff, I managed to get sick.

Well, at least the illness held off till you moved- get some rest and then tackle the next part of thejob! The cat is completely unrecognizable! Good for you guys for saving its life! Good Karma is on its way to your house, I predict! By the way, I really wish there was a pill that combined a week's worth of bedrest, home made cooking and clean laundry all inside a pill. You take it and then everything is made ok!

Aww! I'm so delighted that your good efforts and willingness to care paid off so well, and that the cats are comfortable living together. He looks so much like 'Shorty' (now Gandalf), the cat I fostered last summer. Lucky cats!

Fantastic photos.....one of our guinea pigs is sick today....I am feeding her water with an eye dropper and fear that she is not long for this world.....you did wonders with your kitten....thanks for giving hope to other animal lovers out there :)
What a beauty! He's a very lucky guy to have found you. :)

As for the paws-in-the-air thing, my 10 y.o. cat doesn't seem to have gotten the word that 'real' cats don't do that either. :D Of course, I'm convinced that he thinks he's a dog - he's the least cat-like cat I've ever met.
Naw! That's a different cat!

Well done you.
Lucky fellow.

I have a dog who holds his paws like that -- it's the stuffed animal pets' league I think.

Sorry you're sick. If you need help, would you EMAIL ME?

Little guy's put on some weight! Don't ask me for my excuses for dusty rugs- at least you actually have some good ones. Good luck with the moving!

What a handsome gentleman he's become!!! :)
That adorable expression says, "I ub my mummy and daddy for saving me." What a success story. Makes me cry with a big smile on my face.

in one of your previous posts you made a list of all the things you had to do within a very short time span...

I'm happy to hear that you made it (however, not very suprised:)). I do hope that you get better soon, so that you can have a few relaxing days:)

the kitten is really amazing. he was obviously in such a mess when you took him in, and look at him now! he looks like a real prince:) who cares about a little dust, when so so obviously know you priorities:)

you guys are really amazing both of you!
