Bee-Curious

...

Our first day as beekeepers, and the feral cats want to get in on the action. "Sleeves" has heard that one should wear white when working around beehives.

We're working on a design for a little hat and veil.

Driving home with a car-full of bees was -- amazingly -- no big deal!

I suspect that all the bees were asleep.

LOVE this! Sleeves is much more intrigued than my poor old Danny T dog, who gets quite anxious... Yay Sleeves!

It won't take too long for the cats to decide to give them some room. Our most adventurous one just looks at them now.

Poor Sleeves! He's totally terrified of humans. When he eventually gets stung he's going to have one more thing that fills his little kitty heart with fear.

I really do wish he could learn that we're not about to kill him, every single time we walk past.
Amazing. I can see why a cat might be attracted to bees -- they're a living version of the cat dancer. But my pets seem to know instinctively not to mess with them. Most surprising is why he didn't get stung. I guess the white suit really works.
