deliver us from ... something or other

...

Despite his great attitude and hard work, Robb still needs a lot of Rather Personal Medical Stuff. We get cases of this medical stuff delivered, on a fairly regular basis.

And it drives me insane.

Not the fact that Robb has to use all this Rather Personal Medical Stuff. If that doesn't bother Robb, I'm not going to let it bother me.

What drives me insane is the delivery guys, and the boxes themselves. The boxes are huge and bulky (and not easy for a guy like Robb to drag up three flights of stairs). They are also labeled as Rather Personal Medical Stuff in letters so huge you could read them from the window of the Space Shuttle.

And this, apparently, embarrasses the delivery guys, because they ring our doorbell, and then ditch our boxes of Rather Personal Medical Stuff on the front door step and drive off as quickly as they can.

Ringing the doorbell and running away, indeed! I don't blame Robb for shaking his cane at these insolent whippersnappers.

I'd call UPS and complain. These are big beefy guys who deliver boxes all day. The least they can do is bring it to your door like people who live in houses!

Oh, they bring it to the door, all right.

And then they scram, before I can run down three flights of stairs.

Because meeting a person who has Rather Personal Medical Issues is Awkward.

Chickens.

I agree. Shouldn't they be bringing it upstairs for you? (I am assuming you live in an apartment) I'd also complain.

Perhaps you should leave strategically-placed post-it notes on your front door? I'll leave it up to you what they should say, but you could really have some fun with this! :D

Oh, is there any way of making it so Robb has to sign for them? Then he could mess with the delivery guys in person! :D

I believe ringing and running is a general practice for the UPS guys. When they deliver to my house they never stick around for me to open the door. They are in thier truck and on their way before my hand even touches the door handle.

I'd call & complain too. I think it's standard to ring & run. It happens all the time at my house :/

But there no reason for it.

I'm holding my fingers in my ears and saying "la la la la la" out loud all the while thinking to myself "I don't want to know about the penis enlarger"!

Actually, fear of handling a penis enlarger is probably why the guys ring and run, eh?
Gina said…
They're just jealous and curious and have to run away from the overwhelming temptation to keep the enlarger for themselves....just look at the face of the guy in the pic. "Hey, Robb, good buddy! Wanna share?!"

Dudes...Robb's PARENTS read this blog.

Behave.

How do we know that Robb's parents aren't getting a chuckle out of all this? It's good for them to know your friends have a warped sense of humor, if they haven't figured it out for themselves yet!

By the way, Gary's mum is an overly polite British lady living in Brooklyn NY, yet every time we visit her she seems to be yelling at the cops! What's up with that?
