Routine, Regime, Rinse, Repeat!

I'm discovering the hard way how important my daily exercise/physical therapy is to my overall state of mind. These past few weeks I've had some major interruptions in my normal pattern. The result has been I've been as run-down emotionally as physically.

Today, I had to kick my butt out the door and down to the pool and I'm really glad I did. The surge I get from moving myself powerfully through the water is as much mental as physical. I always seem to leave there feeling a little bit stronger and a little more hopeful.

Now I just need to get myself back on the pedals. We've got a big ride coming up ...

Hey there,

I'm back in Wyoming again after driving 2,000 miles from PA to get here. I stopped in several places to get gas (from the tank as well as the food, yuk) and picked up a local biking newsletter I need to send on to you guys about the RAGBRAI spectacle. I would really like to do that myself one day, but, until they invent human cloning, I don't know how I'm gonna get er all done yet!

We would love to ride RAGBRAI someday. Six days of bikes, homemade pie and beer has a mighty appeal.

Right now the prospect of riding 60-something miles a day for a week, though, seems like a distant dream.

I'll keep dreaming...

If you just pedal one mile and drink WAY WAY too much, you can hallucinate that you DID bike the whole thing! That's my opinion.

But I gotta tell you, the article was also about the damage done to the area by the flooding this past spring as well. Apparently a focus is going to be made on the damage and still necessary repairs to be made to quite extensive areas that were formerly real draws on the RAGBRAI trail. So if you are interested, maybe there is a website about it this year.

Good luck to you on the swimming. Maybe you should have gone to the RAGBRAI earlier this spring and you could have gotten in some biking as well as swum thru the floodwaters! Beer drinking is optional.

I completed RAGBRAI some years ago and want to do it again. Everyone should do it at least once.
