Niobe

...

I miss my kitty so much that just looking at this photo, which I took on her last day with us, is making me cry.

We've had a lot of experience dealing with grief at our home, and it never seems to get any easier.

Bless both of you for providing her with the love and life any cat would envy. She will live in your hearts forever.

Oh golly... I am sorry to have not checked in in the last couple days to offer my support-- life has been going by fast-forward here in a kid-flurry and I had no idea that Niobe took a turn for the worse...
I am so, so sorry-- she was a beloved grand lady and I can see why she was the kitty-love of your life. It will take time to make the hurt more bearable; grieving never gets easier...

Hugs to you both---

I have a question- do you know what you are going to do with her later on? If you were closer she could have a primo spot behind our barn in our kitty graveyard. Birds are alwas chirping there, its sunny and neighborhood barn cats sun themselves there quite often. Perhaps you can find a nice spot for her along one of your bike trails. Whatever happens to her, she will always be in your hearts, I'm sure of it.

My heart goes out to you. :( I am so glad that there are people like you who love their pets as family members. All of your creatures are blessed to have you both as their people.

Lisa and Robb...

How sad... I feel your pain... felt it only in August with a beloved cat! How I know how you hurt! Breathe in and Breathe out!... time will make things easier to deal with... the acute pain less... there will always be a special place in your heart for Niobe... and some day you will be reunited. Niobe is in a special place now... no pain...no suffering...

Hugs to you, My Friends...

I'm so sorry for the pain you're feeling so soon after the so unexpected death of Mr. Firdusi. Niobe held on as long as she could...she knew how much you loved her.

She'll always have a special place in your hearts.

Hugs,
Mom

I'm so sorry for your loss, it's so hard to lose a member of your family, whether human or feline or otherwise. And to have lost two cats so recently must be just awful, I really feel for you. And though they'll never replace the two cats you've lost, try to find cheer in the thought that perhaps you'll want to hear the pitter patter of little feet again soon- in the form of kittens! :) Nothing warms the heart and helps the healing than tiny kittens sleeping on your shoulder. :)
Lisa and Robb,

We are so sorry, our hearts and thoughts are with you in this difficult time, as they have been in the last few days.

Lisa & Robb - I'm so sorry for your loss! As the mom of two senior greyhounds, I worry about this very thing all the time.

Even if you're skeptical, I would recommend talking with an animal communicator. I've been working with one for the past 2 years, and it's been amazing. There are many posts here that say our animals cannot speak to us, but it is possible. Granted, I'm sure there are lots of phonies out there, but if you need a reputable person, please contact me. (or anyone reading this who is interested)

For anyone else going through this awful time, it is possible to work with your companion animal to give you a sign when s/he is ready. And even after our lil loved ones have passed, it may be comforting to know they are ok, and that you made the right decision.

Please take care - my thoughts are with you.

Never got the chance to meet Niobe, but I'm crying too. This is sometimes such a harsh world, so it's our joy and duty to help each other through it.

Hold on to each other. Later, when you get a chance, I hope you write down many things you remember about her. I'm so glad you could give Niobe and all your cats so much of your love.

Lisa and Robb--I'm so sorry guys. What a sweet little kitty she was. I was just thinking the other day about the noise she makes when hunting the plaid chipmunk. (There may also have been a thought of the eviserated mouse left outside my bedroom door.)

So sorry. I'm shedding tears for her and for you guys that she wasn't able to keep up her end of the pact. I had a horrible time euthenizing Akbar, but it is the right thing to do, and it sounds like in the end you knew when to do it.

I'm so sorry Lisa. Niobe was a sweet kitty and I know the two of you had an extra-special connection. Give Linguine a hug and some frothed milk.

Love,
Martha

What a beautiful kitty and a beautiful life. you're wonderful for taking such good care of her, even when you weren't sure you were doing the right thing.

I am sitting here crying as I look at that sweet face. She looks so much like the stray kitty my son brought home only two weeks ago. He could not leave her in that tree in the Taco Bell parking lot.

I also know that I will be facing the same thing in the next couple of years as my other stray mother and son duo move into their geriatric years (mom, Clio, is 12, son, Victor Vortex, is 10 1/2 - born in my bed after my daughter brought the mom home as a stray 'just until I find her a home, mom'!)

The love you give these wonderful creatures, no matter how great, pales in comparison to the joy they give you!

Grief never gets easier, but it does get less hard. My prayers are that the grief you feel now will dissolve into gratitude and joy for her having allowed you to share that seemingly brief moment that was your lives together.

Hugs to you both and your surviving pets, I am sure they are grieving as well.

I'm so sorry- these goodbyes are coming much too close together, and I can only imagine how hard it has been and how much you miss Niobe.

I'm not quite sure what to raise in a toast to her memory, so I'm drawing a kitty in a heart in the air with my paintbrush.
