Bay Area Knitters

...

Who wants to join me at a fiber expo in Oakland, this weekend?

I'm thinking of spending Sunday morning, gawking at yarn.

Can you use alpaca wool to knit with? The neighbors on our block raise a herd of alpacas on their farm, and are holding an open house this weekend. I dont know if it gets cold enough there in sunny california to wear wool, but the alpacas are very sweet and need to get rid of their wool on those 90 degree days!

Alpaca is a wonderful luxury fiber. I love knitting with it! That must be what your neighbors are raising the alpacas for. Well, either that, or they're just keeping them around because they're so hilarious!

I would love to, but it's a bit of a drive for me. Have fun!

I get the alpaca poo for the garden and for the compost. Things grow great in it, especially green leafy stuff , especially herbs. What I am going to do with this years "basil hedges" stumps me.

We can eat only so much pesto, baby.
