almost like driving...

Today, after what seemed like a very long time, we regained possession of our car, which now has adaptive gear, so that Robb can drive again.

We then drove about half a mile down the street, and dropped it off at the mechanic, so that the horrible squealing belt issue could be fixed. I'm not certain if this will be under the car's warranty, or not. We bought the car two days shy of three months ago, which is the length of our coverage, and besides, the warranty may or may not cover the particular part of the car that is causing the problem. As it is, we have loads of very fine rubber dust all over the engine, from the belt that had been installed a few days before we bought the car.

So, we almost have a car.

While at the first mechanic's, I saw the following signs. Both just seem wrong to me, albeit for very different reasons.

Bad advertising.

Just bad.

But not as bad as this one, which I have not seen in person...

Good luck with the car. As far as the signs go I still think "don't staple your buddy in the head" is my favorite.

Hi Robb and Lisa,
Let me (re)introduce myself. Robb and I went to high school together-I was in 10th, Robb in 12th grade. I think what I remember most about our encounters was calling his mom from the deli on Bay Ave to let her know he was heading home with a group of friends, and 30 seconds later, upon arrival, she had snacks awaiting us. I also remember a trip to Boston with our music department and eating a bunch of David's cookies we had gotten at Pickering Wharf, and having some sort of sugar rush that Robb coaxed me through. We were definitely a theatrical bunch (Robbie Hall, Louise Rizzuto, Peter Kalivas, Tina Di Chiara, and me-Syndee Poyner (now Zegel).
Just recently, Robb's mom stopped in my husband's shoe store in Patchogue and told my husband, Dave, what had happened to Robb. Robb's mom gave him this web address and I have to say that the two of you are amazing. Lisa-I only read February, 2006 and February 2007 just to get updated on the basics of your trials and tribulations throughout the past year.
Okay, I've already taken up too much blog space. I hope the car situation works out. Please let me know you have received this. My e-mail is syndeezegel@msn.com

Hey, I remember seeing the wheelchair and alligator sign posted on your blog before, and loving it. Do you know if this is a sign that can be bought? I would love to get one just like it and send it to a friend of mine who lives in Florida.

Lisa, be glad your car is full of rubber dust and not dirty Detroit snowballs or big old Baltimore cockroaches.

Annalisa
