Where have we been?

Something went wrong with our dsl, and we were without internet connection for the better part of this week.

I've not gotten much done because I've had migraines. I tried to find a photo of Robb from the play, The Madman and the Nun, because his character gets killed by having a pencil jammed through his temple. I've been feeling like I somehow got a pencil stuck in my skull.

I've decided to start tracking these headaches to see if there is any pattern. I suspect that stress is a likely culprit. But most of my favorite foods are also linked to migraines.

If I had to cut out nuts, caffeine, dairy products, avocados, legumes (including all soy products), bananas, sourdough breads, aged cheeses, red wines, beer, and chocolate, I'm not sure that life would be worth living.

Different people have different triggers for their migraines, so don't despair just yet. For example I have no problem consuming chocolate (!!) but scallops do me in. And sometimes red wine too - my friend Joanna says she cannot drink a bottle of red wine that costs less than $15, or she will get a headache. She blames it on the sulfites, but maybe she's just a wine snob.

Strangely enough I have a friend who citrus is her trigger food. Just remember to cut one thing out at a time to see what it could be. Good luck and hope you feel better.
