This is one of the reasons I went away from top-bar frames. If I used some foundationless frames now, I think I'd put them in between ones with comb on them, hoping that the bees would stay straight. What about "leaves" of wax foundation from top to bottom in strips, as guides? Or maybe it doesn't bother you very much! I'm pretty OCD about straight comb.Stefaneenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08422241601075022500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21900544.post-58953286598331183812010-07-08T19:23:56.452-07:002010-07-08T19:23:56.452-07:00We use a brush that I made out of turkey feathers ...We use a brush that I made out of turkey feathers to brush the bees off the honeycomb. If that doesn't work, we puff smoke on them, which usually moves them along.

If the frame is broken, and dripping honey, it's more difficult to evict the bees. They want to gather up the honey and bring it back into the hive.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03932975112078606231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21900544.post-26174538568751913812010-07-08T16:42:19.837-07:002010-07-08T16:42:19.837-07:00I like the last photo too - only I thought they we...I like the last photo too - only I thought they were breaking into an impromptu honey-bee version of "YMCA"....... ;-))Kay/The Little Foxeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06438560270883028887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21900544.post-85312719651226065542010-07-08T16:37:00.210-07:002010-07-08T16:37:00.210-07:00So, how do you separate the honey from the bees? ...So, how do you separate the honey from the bees?
