Slumber Party!!!
Tonight, I will spend the night at the hospital as part of a twenty-four hour Independence Trial. The staff wants to see that Robb and I can take care of his day-to-day care by ourselves.
After that, comes the Home Evaluation Visit, where the therapists, Robb and I will do a walk-through of our apartment, and the therapists will suggest changes for me to make, and ascertain that Robb can handle all the hurdles of living at home.
Once all that is sorted out, Robb will be coming home, to start the next phase of his recovery.
Wish Us Luck!!!

I wasn't reading much last week, as I had a friend in town, but I just caught up on everything. First of all, I just wanted to say that I'm really excited that Robb is coming home. I'm sure it will be challenging -- and, Lisa, I know the idea of caretaking must be overwhelming -- but up those 44 steps is the future. And a return to normality. (Or whatever you usually have.) ;-)
I've never posted a comment here, but I wanted to when I saw that you asked who was reading. I am SO reading along. I am thrilled to follow Robb's progress and appreciate having an update.
When I read it, Lisa, I am incredibly impressed by your intelligence, your good humor, your courage, and your honesty in the face of these challenges. These qualities will allow you to succeed, and if Robb is coping half as well as you are, you guys have got it made.
I don't really know what else to say. Just want you to know that I'm thinking of you.
Good luck!

When you're feeling wrung out or discouraged, remember that you have limitless power and potential. You are part of the universe and can tap into the universal life force.(a little buddhist pep talk)
